Mossberg 590m Shockwave
Mossberg 590M Mag-Fed pump-action 10+1 capacity 12-gauge shotgun is an evolution of the popular Mossberg 590 tube magazine shotguns. This new for 2018 arm is notable because it has a removable magazine (hence the “M” in 590M) for quick swaps and since it is the world’s first 12-gauge with a double-stack magazine. This dramatically increases capacity without requiring an oversize magazine tube, and that the magazines are swappable makes reloading a cinch.

The Mossberg 590M is finished in black. Its design includes an ambidextrous red-dot slide tang safety, dual extractors and an anti-jam elevator optimized for slick movement. It features a traditional rifle stock, and its length of pull is fixed at 13.87″. Chamber is 2.75”, the heavy-walled barrel is 18.5” long, overall length is 39.5”, and weight is 7.75 pounds.
These measures exceed Mossberg’s similar 590 Shockwave tube magazine shotguns, and all this is because of the 590M’s key differentiator: its tall double-stack 10-round magazine that drops below the gun like a 30-round mag curves out of AR types. The 590M’s 10-round mag has a black oxide finish, over-molded steel shell ramps and a removable floor plate to facilitate cleaning.
This shotgun has a bead sight and a cylinder bore choke. Its receiver has been drilled and tapped. The stock is black polymer, which helps keep weight low and balance where you’d want it. Moreover, the center of gravity with a full-magazine is the full-magazine itself.
The 590M’s revised detachable box magazine architecture is no mere afterthought, but very deliberate and well thought out. The magazine has stabilizing ribs and the 590M has matching recesses to ensure the magazine docks and locks precisely and securely. Then to reverse the process, there is an all-steel ambidextrous magazine release just in front of the trigger guard for easy changes.
The 590M comes with the aforementioned 10-round magazine, but 5, 15 and 20-round versions are also available
